The Peel Glycolic/Phytic Acid Peel With 30% Glycolic Acid. 1 easy step. No Pre-Peel Solution Needed. No Neutralization required. There are some glycolic acids that do not need to be neutralized but instead simply rinsed off with water. These old formulations allowed one to avoid neutralization following an increase of pH to around 4. However, this increase in pH also drastically reduced the effectiveness of the treatment. Thus, by increasing the pH, we reduce the risks but also the efficacy of the glycolic acid. The PeelTM with Phytic Acid retains a very acid pH (2.5) and need not be neutralized due to the slow, gradual release of acids into the skin. When an acid is neutralized, it loses its strength. A glycolic acid peeling that is neutralized after a few minutes will only have an effect for the same amount of time, which is one of the reasons why The PeelTM with Phytic Acid is more effective than a glycolic acid peeling.
